Motel reservations have become increasingly easy to make over the past 15 years. Prior to that, most reservations were made by either calling an 800 number or using a travel agent. It was dificult to find discount motels without either one. More recently, with the advent of online reservations, making discount motel reservations or booking a motel room has become extremely simple. Most major search engines will allow you to search for the type of motel or accomodation in any particular state or city. One can search by motel chain or price level and specify the city or area within a city where you want to stay. Addition features such as finding pet-friendly, smoke free, long term stay, or motels near a landmark, for example, have become easy by searching the internet search engines or one of the major motel reservation booking sites.
